Crina Nimigean received her Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics in 1999 from the University of Miami School of Medicine under the supervision of Karl Magleby. After almost 5 years as a post-doctoral fellow in Chris Miller’s laboratory at Brandeis University, she started her own lab as an Assistant Professor in the Physiology and Membrane Biology department at University of California at Davis, in 2005.  She is now an Associate Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York.  Her lab employs a multitude of functional and structural techniques to understand the molecular mechanisms of permeation, selectivity, and gating in potassium channels.
