Overview: The Human Heart Tissue Forum is a research consortium based on the Sydney Heart Bank. Since 1989 the Sydney Heart Bank (SHB) has continued to build a large (>25,000 samples) collection of human heart tissues. Over this 25-year period about 70 research groups have accessed this bank of tissue and over 60 publications have arisen. These will be available on the Forum website. The body of work involves whole tissues, cells (cardio-myocytes), subcellular elements (myofibrils), and molecules (titin). The main purpose of this Forum is to facilitate the personal exchange of research data between as many users of the SHB as possible.
